Classroom Management

Classroom management is certainly a necessary component of education.  However, I feel that too many times teachers resort to disciplinary action.  I believe the most effective way to manage a classroom is to be proactive.  If you involve students in their learning, and keep them engaged, then they are less likely to feel the need to be disruptive.  Also, if a teacher keeps the lesson topical and interesting then the students will immerse themselves into it.  There are certainly times when discipline is necessary, but I will hold the belief that the best action is not reaction.  A teacher should always be one step ahead and be proactive.
